There is now a new cryptic puzzle available (#41) as well as the solution to cryptic #40. If you haven't already, please take this opportunity to try out our new interactive site. There are still a couple of days left to enter the November prize puzzle for those who haven't already.

The December prize puzzle is now open. Best of luck to you all.

The November puzzle is of course now closed and the winner in the process of being notified. Nice to see that we got a couple of submissions through the new interface. Smile

Cryptic puzzle #42 is now ready for you to solve, along with the solution to cryptic #41. The December puzzle is of course well in swing, and of course our new interactive site should make things more enjoyable. Look out for a couple of improvements to that in the next few days.

There is a new cryptic puzzle #43 ready for your Yuletide crossword enjoyment, and of course the solution to cryptic #42 is available. Still plenty of time to enter the December prize puzzle as well.

As this will be the last release beforehand, a Merry Christmas to everyone.

The calendars have moved on, so of course the December puzzle is now complete (and the solution published) and the January puzzle is open. Best of luck to everyone and a very happy New Year from all at Puzzletome.

Cryptic puzzle #44 is now available for your delectation, as is the solution to puzzle #43. The January prize puzzle is of course still running if you haven't submitted your entry yet.

The January prize puzzle is now closed, and the winner in the process of being notified. There were quite a few incorrect submissions. One or two were typos (worth doing a final check through before you submit) but the others centred around 18d which some had as NIGHTCAP. As a couple of our entrants pointed out, a count of the number of birds and the realisation that 21d was the title (and therefore not one of the 13 theme words) were the biggest help here. Smile

This means of course we now have a brand new prize puzzle open for you for February. Best of luck to everyone with that.

There is a new cryptic puzzle available for you all (#45) along with the solution to cryptic #44.

The February prize puzzle is of course still open to anyone who hasn't submitted an entry.

It's March 1st, so of course it is time to close down the February prize puzzle. The winner is in the process of being notified. The March puzzle, Interpretations, is now open for solving. Best of luck to you all.

The March prize puzzle is now closed, and the winner in the process of being notified. Very many thanks for your feedback on this, as it seems to have proved quite a popular puzzle. Some of the comments include:

Quote:
A wonderful treatment of the two interpretations of the thematic name. Ingenious, I would say. Many thanks for such a highly enjoyable puzzle.
Quote:
Thank you for this well thought-out and well constructed challenge.

This particular centenary seems to have appealed to a few puzzle compilers, but yours was another nice original variation.

A big musical thumbs up!

This means of course that the April prize puzzle (Swaps) is now open. Best of luck to you all.

There is a new cryptic puzzle published (#47) along with the solution to cryptic #46.

Some of the early feedback from the April prize puzzle suggest it might be slightly easier than a couple of the more recent ones, so if you fancy the chance of winning an Amazon voucher now is a good opportunity. Smile

The April prize puzzle is now closed, with the winner in the process of being notified, and so the May puzzle (O Errant Decision) is now open. Best of luck to you all.

The solution to the April puzzle is in place, but I haven't sorted out the explanations yet - these will appear sometime over the next couple of days. (Please see the feedback topic for some more discussion on this.)

The May prize puzzle is now closed and the solution published. This of course means that the June puzzle (Sudoku) is now open.

I should add that if you happened to get to the puzzle early this morning, it's possible you might have seen some strange behaviour with the display. This was due to the puzzle being a 17x17 instead of the normal 15x15, but should now be fixed. Please let me know if you see any other problems with the display.
