I have a question to our Dutch friends Smile

Im off to Gouda next week for business, and Im wondering what excitement I can find for the evenings. If any of you know the Gouda area, I'd love to hear some suggestions. I might (if I have to stay there for a week) go to Amsterdam for a day.

Thanks in advance

John

Hi John.

I wish I could help you, but to tell you the truth I've never been to Gouda. Embarassed
That city is famous for candles and (ofcourse) for Goudse Kaas. I have no idea what the nightlife is there.
If I were you I'ld stay 1 day in Gouda and the rest of your week in Amsterdam, much more excitement there Very Happy

Anyway, I do hope you have a good time Thumbs up

Caroline

If you only get there once make that once as long as possible, Amsterdam is an amazing place.

Perhaps I forgot to mention, Ive been to Amsterdam before, had an amazing time. Which is why I want to go again for a day. I'll take some colleagues with me who havent been. But as for Gouda (a few bars, a few restuarants) I cant find much to do. Maybe a train into Amsterdam a couple of times might be the answer.

Thanks guys Smile

My sister-in-law lives in Amsterdam, about 10 minutes walk from the center. We go to stay a couple of times a year and never tire of being there. With so much to do in Amsterdam we haven't ventured outside of the city yet so I can't help with Gouda, I'm afraid.

Hope you get to Amsterdam, say Hello for me.

You're also not so far from Rotterdam. There's a lot to do there in the evenings. Perhaps you could go there sometime in the evenings.

Well I left the UK at 4am Tuesday, and got back 23:40 Thursday. Had a Fantastic time, and the Dutch colleagues really looked after us. Gouda is a small town, has a few really good bars and a great selection of restuarants. Amsterdam provided a really good day and a night, very lively and even the Museums were great.

So we worked hard and partied hard. Holland is a great country, the people were great and friendly too

Im going back in 4 weeks for the next phase of software integration Smile Thumbs up
