Hi.
I'm stuck on problem 1.15. The problem is that all of the forum hints involve exchanges like "can you PM me?" "yes" "great, thanks, now I've solved it."
This is all very well in November 2004 when most people tried to solve the puzzle. But it doesn't help me now.
How can I get a hint to this puzzle, and why are there no actual hints on the forum?
Thanks for your thoughts
Dan

Hi Danny

A couple of points here. Firstly, I suspect that posts about PMs were just as unhelpful back then as they are now (apart from to the people the PMs went to). Secondly we have two 'puzzle 1.15s' as each of Puzzletome Contest One and Contest Two have that. However, judging by what you've said I suspect it is Contest Two you are stuck on (Contest One has 10 pages worth of posts and many large hints).

Admittedly there aren't many clues on the PT2-1.15 forum, but you shouldn't need to rely on those to solve puzzles. They are all theoretically solvable with no hints. That also leads me to another point which is that the best place to post about a particular puzzle is in the forum thread itself. This has many benefits, not least of which is that people may offer to PM you with assistance if you wish. The chances are that posting elsewhere will cause some people not to spend the time working out which puzzle you are referring to.
