Although most of you will never have used it, you probably have noticed that we have a 'Contact' link on the main page (and indeed all the others outside the forum). As is the custom on websites, this is an email link allowing people to get in touch if there are any problems or if they want to submit puzzles. However, since it is in 'plain view' this makes it accessible to spammers, 'bots and the like, which makes the email account very prone to spam.

The time has come to do something about it (yes we *do* check the account). If you use the link now, it will point to a different email address, and the old one will be removed in the next day or two. We are also likely to change this on a regular basis in the future. All of which means if you have an old url saved in an address book it will become invalid, and any email you subsequently send to it will vanish in a puff of ether smoke.

I will be PMing our most prolific user of the link (ASA) personally, just to make sure he knows. Smile

By which he means it'll get dumped in the 'catch-all' email inbox that contains messages sent to Puzzletome email addresses that aren't allocated. I check those, but it might get lost in the hundreds of spams that arrive every day.

My suggestion is even with the current email, if you want to guarantee you get noticed, stick something in the subject line that stands out.
